Today on Giving Tuesday we ask our greater Plast community to support the campaign to create an endowed scholarship at Ukrainian Catholic University. This perpetual annual scholarship is created for spouses and children of fallen Plast scouts. Our fundraising goal is $100,000.
In the true spirit of Giving Tuesday, a generous Plast donor has offered to match any gift up to $50,000 through December 31, 2023. Your $100 gift today will become $200, a $1,000 gift will become $2,000 and so on. We hope you will take advantage of our match donor’s incredible generosity to double the size of your donation.

The valiant defenders of Ukraine will need support and resources when the war is over – and an important part of that support will be access to quality higher education.
Plast Scouting USA is proud to announce a new fundraising initiative to create an endowed annual scholarship at Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU). The endowed scholarship is created for current or veteran soldiers of the Ukrainian Army, their spouses and children of fallen soldiers, with priority given to current or former members of Plast Ukraine. Our fundraising goal is $100,000, which will create the endowment and a perpetual annual scholarship at the university.
Beginning in late February 2022, Plast Scouts in Ukraine have pursued two major goals – protecting Ukrainian sovereignty and providing humanitarian aid. Hundreds of Plast scouts have voluntarily joined the Ukrainian armed forces or civilian defense groups. Some have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives for their country, while others have been severely wounded. Although we can never repay their sacrifice, we can honor these heroes by giving them access to a world-class education, uplifting themselves and future generations of Ukrainians.
Ukrainian Catholic University, located in Lviv, is the first Catholic university to open on the territory of the former Soviet Union. The university is open to members of all religious denominations and is guided by Christian principles of ethics, compassion, and transparency. UCU offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in a wide range of subjects including computer science, business, law, theology, government administration, and rehabilitation medicine. In 2012, UCU hosted a portion of Plast’s International Scouting Jamboree in Ukraine.
This Plast scholarship will endure and serve as an inspiration to the many Plast members and students who will pass through UCU.

Пласт США Оголошує Нову Підтримку Фінансуванням Стипендій Пластунам при УКУ
Коли закінчиться війна, українські захисники потребуватимуть підтримку і ресурси. Важливою частиною цієї підтримки стане доступ до вищої освіти.
Пласт США проголошує нову ініціятиву – збирання коштів на щорічну стипендію при Українському Католицькому Університеті (УКУ). Цю стипендію створено для вояків або ветеранів українського війська, їхніх жінок та дітей загиблих вояків, із пріорітетом теперішнім або колишнім пластунам в Україні. Наша ціль, зібрати $100,000 і це створить фонд-ендаумент, як також щорічну стипендію при університеті.
Від початку війни котра почалась у лютім 2022 році, пластуни в Україні мали дві головні цілі, а саме захистити український сувернітет і надати гуманітарну допомогу. Сотки пластунів добровільно вступили до Збройних Сил України (ЗСУ) цивільної оборони. Декотрі заплатили своїм життям, а декотрих важко поранено. Ми ніколи не зможемо відплатити їм за їхню жертву, але можемо вшанувати цих героїв надавши їм доступ до світової слави освіти, для них і для майбутніх поколінь українців.
Український Католицький Університет у Львові, є першим католицьким університетом, відкритий для членів усіх вировизнань який керується за християнськими принципами етики, і прозорості. В УКУ можна отримати бакалавра, маґістерку і докторат із різних предметів, як наприклад із бізнес,
права, державного управління, теології і медицини. В 2012 році, УКУ провів частину Ювілейної Міжкраєвої Пластової Зустрічі на своїм терені.
Ця пластова стипендія триватиме і служитиме як надхнення для пластунів і учнів які пройдуть через УКУ.
