Fundraising efforts are focused on helping those impacted by the war.
Plast, Ukrainian Scouting Organization – USA (Plast USA) has launched a new initiative “Scouts for Ukraine”, that supports emergency relief, providing critical humanitarian aid to help war victims in Ukraine.
Since the February 24th full scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, millions of innocent lives have been affected. Live-saving medical supplies and other humanitarian needs are now difficult to come by in Ukraine to help the victims of this war. Plast USA, in partnership with other European sister Plast organizations, is able to leverage its vast network to distribute aid quickly and effectively to heavily impacted areas. Within Ukraine alone, Plast Ukraine has 42 established hubs that represent the essential ‘last mile’ for delivering essential aid for those who need it the most.
“We at Plast USA have been working since the 2014 Russian annexation of Crimea to provide medical and humanitarian aid to those affected by Russian fighting in the Donbas region. However, now in light of Putin’s escalation, we must do more to provide aid, call for peace, and apply all possible measures to end the human tragedy happening in Ukraine. This fundraising effort will help provide effective and efficient aid to regions hit hardest.” – Andrew Kozak, Chairman of the Board, Plast USA.
Since the full-scale invasion began, Plast USA has been providing humanitarian relief for Ukrainian victims and recently delivered a shipment of 4,000 tourniquets and 12,000 Pocket First Aid Kits (PFAK) to Plast scouts in Ukraine. Through its established networks, Plast is able to distribute aid throughout Ukraine and bordering nations sheltering refugees. The “Scouts for Ukraine” campaign will continue to leverage this vast network that will be able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and focus on helping those in need as the war continues.
